about three days a week, forty six weeks a year. He continues to entertain sold-out crowds in theaters and
comedy clubs and remains in demand for corporate events. James has been the featured entertainer for over

The Kentucky Derby
The Kentucky Derby is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old Thoroughbred horses, held annually in
Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday in May, capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The race
is one and a quarter miles at Churchill Downs. The race is known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in
Sports" or "The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports" for its approximate duration, and is also called "The Run for the
Roses" for the blanket of roses draped over the winner. It is the first leg of the US Triple Crown and is followed
by the Preakness Stakes, then the Belmont Stakes. The horse must win all three races to win the Triple
Crown.  The Kentucky Derby is one of the USA's oldest Thoroughbred horse races, beginning in 1875 with
winner Aristides.

Portland Cello Project
Performances by the talented Portland Cello Project (or PCP as their fans affectionately call them) are unique
and eclectic, as likely to mix a Salt-N-Pepa cover with Bach and follow the medley with something by composer
Arvo Pärt. One-part rock concert and one-part chamber recital, each performance is a one-time affair, and the
ensemble writes almost entirely new arrangements for every performance cycle. Blending classical music with
pop culture covers, PCP draws people interested in unique and original experiences, not afraid of shedding
labels. A fun evening of live music and surprises awaits everyone looking for an indie chamber music
experience. “Known for their lush, immaculately-arranged covers, the band is equally adept at bringing
classical compositions to life,” reports blogger Large Hearted Boy.  Ticket $30

Originally started in Bloomington, IN, Ryan Knudsen (drums/percussion), Max Marshall (keys), and Coleman
Cook (bass), were brought together while studying at the Jacob's School of Music at Indiana University. Playing
shows, recording albums, and touring on and off for the past two years, this group has wowed audiences on a
national level by showcasing their love and passion for blending the styles of music that they love. The Media
Noche Trio (tonight featuring Hunter Diamond on Saxophone) uses original music and standards as a
backdrop to blend together American styles of Jazz and Funk with the highly flammable rhythms and musics of
the Caribbean; especially those from Cuba and Brazil. This groups' joy for playing music together is tangible

mandolin and sings lead and harmony vocals. Owen Reynolds who plays the doghouse bass and Terry Cox
who plays rhythm guitar and sings lead vocals. We play a variety of originals and covers that range
(wanderers) from traditional bluegrass to over the edge. We are constantly expanding and using new
materials. We are currently tracking a new cd at Old Town Studios in Berea, Kentucky. We have 12 originals
that will likely be included along with 2 covers that we couldn't resist including on the cd. As with the theme of
the group (Wanderers) we have cuts that range from up-tempo bluegrass to Americana and edge music.
Several members are excellent songwriters and develop unique styles. Hopefully this will be reflected on the
new cd.

Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed annually on the last Monday of May.  [Formerly known
as Decoration Day, it originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the fallen soldiers of the Civil
War.  By the early 20th century, Memorial Day was an occasion for more general expressions of memory, as
people visited the graves of their deceased relatives, whether they had served in the military or not. It also
became a long weekend increasingly devoted to shopping, family gatherings, fireworks, trips to the beach, and
national media events such as the Indianapolis 500 auto race, held since 1911 on the Sunday of Memorial
Day weekend.
